Alex Murphy will transfer from Duke at the end of the semester, according to multiple reports.

Finals at Duke run Dec. 10-15.

The Chronicle student newspaper first reported the news.

The 6-foot-9 redshirt transfer has not played in four of Duke’s last five games. Murphy has averaged 1.9 points during his career and has played in 36 of a possible 45 games.

Murphy initially chose Duke over Florida, Boston College, West Virginia, Kansas and North Carolina.

Erik Murphy, Alex’s older brother, played for Florida and is now a member of the Chicago Bulls.
