Iona on Monday landed a verbal pledge from Class of 2019 small forward Bruce Guy Jr. of Memphis (TN) Cordova.

The 6-foot-6, 210-pound Guy Jr. is expected to prep next season and enroll at Iona in 202o, sources said.

“Just the atmosphere and the way I’d fit in their program made me fall in love with them,” he said. “Coach [Tim] Cluess said if I stay focused and determined every day to get better then great things will happen for me as far as my career goes.”

Guy Jr. is Iona’s first 2019 commit.
