Knicks’ Camby Out 2-4 Weeks

An MRI revealed that Marcus Camby has a strained left plantar fascia and will be out approximately 2-4 weeks, the Knicks announced before the team met the Bulls at MSG.

Camby, 38, reinjured the foot during Thursday’s loss at Indiana.

“I thought last night was the best I’ve seen him play in terms of moving around,” coach Mike Woodson said. “So obviously the leg, or foot, was feeling better. Hey, it’s another setback but you gotta keep it moving. We’ll get him back rehabbed again and then try to get him back out on the floor when we can.”

Camby had missed 12 games with plantar fasciitis before Woodson inserted him into the starting lineup for the past two weeks.

Now both he and Rasheed Wallace (stress reaction left foot) are again on the shelf. Woodson said the team still considered Wallace “day-to-day” even though he hasn’t played since Dec. 13.

Kenyon Martin has been mentioned as a possible free agent addition, but Woodson said the he “hasn’t talked to [GM] Glen [Grunwald]” about potential free agent additions.
