Knicks or Nets ‘Likely’ to Host 2015 All-Star Game

The Knicks or Nets are “likely” to host the 2015 NBA All-Star Game, NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver told reporters Saturday in Houston.

Both teams have submitted applications to host the game.

“There are two applications in, one from Brooklyn and one from the Garden,” NBA Commissioner David Stern said, according to ESPNNew “And I really think that Commissioner Silver is going to have a great time with those applications, I really do, and I asked him to send me a postcard to tell me how they go.”

Madison Square Garden’s three-year renovation will be completed next year and the Barclays Center just opened this year.

The Garden hasn’t hosted the All-Star Game since 1998, when Michael Jordan was named MVP in his last season with the Chicago Bulls.

The Garden will also host the 2014 NCAA East Regional, meaning it could host that and the NBA All-Star Game in back-to-back years.
