Knicks Point Guard Trio Looks Good in Win Over Brooklyn

UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Here’s a brief comparison of Jeremy Lin’s night with that of the Knicks point guard trio of Ray Felton, Jason Kidd and Pablo Prigioni that should make Knicks fans feel really good this morning.

Felton, Kidd and Prigioni combined for 23 points, 19 assists and 5 turnovers in the Knicks’ 97-95 OT win over the Nets on Long Island.

Prigioni dished 11 assists to 4 turns, Felton had 5 assists and 1 turn and Kidd handed out 3 assists with 1 turn.

Lin?

He had 2 points, 6 turnovers, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals in Houston’s 97-90 win over the Hornets.

As the Houston Chronicle noted, he’s 8-for-36 on the preseason.

While the Knicks frontcourt is now ravaged with injuries to Amar’e Stoudemire, Tyson Chandler, Marcus Camby and a still-conditioning Rasheed Wallace, the point guard situation looks very solid.

Deron Williams may have been the best PG on the floor in last night’s game, but the Knicks trio is solid, experienced and efficient.

“Exhibition season is exhibition season, it’s over,” coach Mike Woodson said. “It kind of gives you an opportunity to work on some things and bond as a team. Now the real thing starts and we have to start adding some things.”

So Geno was a Patriot in high school and grew up in the shadow of the stadium where the Dolphins play…..

Ah Payless, a sure fire way to get roasted at school. I hated the place when I was a little kid...lol

A humble guy willing to work hard to be the best he can be....and lead  the team we love to the "promised land". Can't ask for more then that.

Geno will rock in 2014! Another year of camp, some real pieces around him on the offense and the consistency of Marty!

i almost feel like we should drafted bailey instead of winters because of how familiar and successful bailey and smith are with eachother

@1969JAN12th

What this kid did as a raw rookie from a simple college offense with a horrid supporting cast, a  new offensive system, a turn-style in Winters on the oline, was unreal! Many seasoned vets would have failed under those circumstances. When you think about it, it is awesome! I have the utmost confidence that Geno with continuity at OC, upgrades on the offense, and another full training camp under his belt, will take a huge step and the Jets will be on their way!

@rstysanchz

or Keenan Allen instead of Winters......
or Mike Glennon or terrence Williams or Logan Ryan. There are lots of guys we could have taken instead of Winters.

This is the same junk you spouted about Sanchez.....When you think about it, Geno was awful.  No excuses.

@jake100 Sanchez had success those first 2 years with that core. The 3rd year and the dismantling of the key players, especially on offense and you see what Sanchez had to work with in the year 3 and 4 (especially bad supporting cast).

Ask any fan, if we have a better oline/WRs/RBs for 2013 season as opposed to 2012 and you will have a resounding yes.

Also Geno has the potential to make plays with his legs but as seen in this documentary and alot of his interviews, he doesn't want to make plays with his legs unless absolutely necessary.

My biggest takeway from comments like your's is that fans are blind to Geno's shortcomings and this year wasnt as good as everyone makes it in regards to his performance.

I admit Sanchez was hindered by a weak supporting cast and still stand by that, but Geno has the physicals to over come that. That is not to say Geno doesn't need at least a decent supporting cast, but he does not need a top supporting cast like Mark would need because Geno has more up side. I really believe Geno will be our franchise QB if management meets him halfway.

@jake100
And then 3 years later, you wouldn't shut up about the putrid supporting cast and how Sanchez needed the reeses™

Stop it silly buckets, Sanchez had a top oline, run game, defense and continuity with the offense in his rookie year. Geno had the deck stacked against him immensely. You watch, he will be a very pleasant surprise. He can make throws that only Sanchez can dream about and is also a duel threat with his legs. He showed real promise the last few games.  All he needs is some experience and a beefed up supporting cast. The kid has "IT"
