Jones, Orton, Lamb Sent to D-League

Friday was a tough day for former Cats and Huskies as Terrence Jones, Daniel Orton and Jeremy Lamb were all assigned to the NBA D-League.

The 6-foot-9 Jones was selected by the Houston Rockets with the No. 18 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft out of national champion Kentucky, one of six Wildcats drafted.

He rejoins the Rio Grande Valley Vipers following a two-game stint there earlier this season in which he averaged 22.5 points and 17.5 boards. He played in eight games with the Rockets, averaging 4.3 points and 2.1 rebounds.

The Oklahoma City assigned both Orton, the No. 29 pick in 2010 out of Kentucky, and Lamb, the No. 12 pick in 2012 out of UConn, to the Tulsa 66ers.

All told, 20 picks in the 2012 Draft have been assigned to the D-League this year.

Amazed by the fact both Colman and Roberson were not drafted...

Love this draft. May half our picks be busts and the other be studs.

i think they are going to make a running back out of boyd. i just can't see how he could throw well enough to be an every down QB

The NFL network gave the Jets draft a A, they said that was good scouting.

Lots of ingredients in the kitchen now; let's keep the best ones!

don't expect anyone big

they would have drafted them already with there 12 picks

Lyerla and Cowell are 2 guys if I was gm i would jump all over right now

huge talent, cost nothing, if they mess up you just release them, no big deal

James Hurst wasn't drafted? He was projected, at times, as high as the third round. He completely shut down Clowney 1-on-1.

We should sign Lyerla. Kids got talent..  worth a shot.

Coleman signs with Saints..  was hoping we'd snag him.

Holy hell. How did I forget about Zurlon Tipton? The Vikings got him. Zimmer.

Would like to see LaDarius Perkins on that list soon! Surprised we didn't take a RB in our twelve picks actually.

Just so everybody is aware WalterFootball has the Jets projected to pick 1st overall in their 2015 mock draft and says they will be the WORST team in the NFL in 2014 and that Rex will be fired.

Here are there reasons

1) Michael Vick is poison

2) Chris Johnson is washed up

3) no talented playmakers (even after this draft)

Interesting that 2 years in a row now the Jets are picked as the single worst team in the NFL -

ESPN said it in 2013 and now Walter Football says it in 2014

@Hoz  All I care about is what Cimini says...

@dabronx  this is exactly why idzik kept all the picks. despite having 12 picks they are looking to sign undrafted players for depth and competition.

@dabronx

There were quite a few guys who went a lot higher or lower then most folks expected!

@jaym  That's great but they only have three of the nine names we've listed above and one of them is misrepresented as a signing rather than a tryout.

@ukjetsfan  Jones - He reportedly signed with Jax then pulled out to sign with another team. Not sure with whom. Hopefully the Jets.

@ukjetsfan  Yeah, we scouted him too.  I liked him as a smallish Mike Goodson pass-catching back.

Oh well.

Lol that had that before the draft no way with a Rex Ryan defense

@bradysucks  WalterFootball's #1 biggest problem as a mock-drafter is his intense hatred for Michael Vick.  He cannot talk intelligently about any team affiliated with him, it clouds his judgement.

He can't even mention the guy by name, calls him "QB Dog Killer" over and over.

@Jesse Brand according to Gatorsports Roberson is still weighing his options. no indication of what those options are though ...

I think the Jets are a team on the rise....I am shocked anybody would pick the Jets dead last AGAIN

I do think they could have done a better job adding playmakers though

Hope he is wrong about Chris Johnson being washed up

He really is a beast only good nfl player on Florida!

@tsjc68 @juunit  Oh, sorry, I knew about DJ Adams an hour ago and probably should have thought to give you a head's up.

I just saw something that said the Broncos got Mister Cobble. I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of this Mister Cobble.

@juunit  Raiders got Atkinson, that's nice.

Packers got Neal and Eagles took Josey.

Cheifs got Charcandrick West.

CHARGERS TOOK MY BOY D.J. ADAMS.  (And Alden Darby.  Drat.)

Panthers took Darrin Reaves.  He'll be a starter for them someday.
