Andrew Wiggins believes he should be the No. 1 pick in next month’s NBA Draft.
And he may well get his wish.
“I always put myself No. 1 above anybody else. That’s just me. I got a lot of confidence in myself,” Wiggins said Monday on ESPN’s “First Take.”
Both Chad Ford of ESPN and DraftExpress.com have the 6-foot-8 Wiggins going No. 1 overall, ahead of Duke’s Jabari Parker and Wiggins’ Kansas teammate Joel Embiid.
“I think for me, Jabari or Joel, I think we all want to go No. 1,” said Wiggins, who averaged 17.1 points and 5.9 rebounds in his only season at Kansas. “But it’s not the end of the world if we don’t because there’s been a lot of great players that ended up to be the best ever, and great Hall of Famers, that never went No. 1 and still had a great career.”
The NBA Draft lottery is Tuesday night and the Milwaukee Bucks have the best chance — 25 percent — of landing the rights to the No. 1 pick.
