WEST ORANGE, N.J.T.J. Gibbs scored a game-high 24 points  and earned Player of the Game honors Saturday as Seton Hall Prep edged Columbia, 58-56, at the Hoop Group Tip-Off Showcase at West Orange High School.

The 6-foot-2 Gibbs, the No. 46 player in the 247 composite rankings for 2016, is the brother of former Pittsburgh standout Ashton Gibbs and current Seton Hall guard Sterling Gibbs and possesses the same smooth jumper that has made his brothers stars at the college level.

Gibbs says he has already received scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Miami, Rutgers, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Providence, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Georgetown, and Boston College. Of those schools he has been able to take unofficial visits to Providence, Seton Hall, Boston College, Georgetown, Rutgers, and St. John’s.

Gibbs is definitely using his brothers’ experiences as college basketball players to prepare himself for the next level.

“I’m not the same person as my brother but I definitely see his experience as something that I can look forward to and something that I can base my opinion off of where I want to go,” T.J. said.

While Gibbs did not say his brother’s schools have a recruiting advantage, the Pittsburgh and Seton Hall coaches are clearly hoping they do.

“I talk to a lot of coaches everyday,” Gibbs said. “I talk to [Providence coach] Ed Cooley a lot. I talk to [Pittsburgh’s] Jamie Dixon a lot.”

Gibbs has no timeline for when he wants to commit and said he wants to see where other players commit first before he makes his decision.
