Kentucky coach John Calipari and North Carolina coach Roy Williams were on hand in Wheeling, W.V., Friday night to watch a trio of 2015 big men.
Stephen Zimmerman, a 7-foot center with an offer from Kentucky, went for 21 points and 8 rebounds as Las Vegas Bishop Gorman beat Cleveland Villa Angela St. Joseph, 73-60, in the Cancer Research Classic at Wheeling Jesuit University. The game was shown on ESPNU.
Zimmerman’s teammate, 6-10 Chase Jeter, added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Jeter holds offers from a slew of big-time schools, most recently picking one up from UConn.
Carlton Bragg of St. Joseph, who is being recruited by Kentucky but has yet to pick up an offer, finished with 9 points and 14 rebounds.
Also on the North Carolina front, assistant Hubert Davis will watch 2015 Iona Prep small forward Matt Ryan on Tuesday.
Ryan is also being recruited by Duke, Notre Dame, Stanford and others.
**Also, Milwaukee Dominican center Diamond Stone is at SMU for Saturday’s UConn game.
**At 7 p.m. on Saturday, Duke-bound Jahlil Okafor and Whitney Young (Ill.) are slated to meet SMU commit Emmanuel Mudiay and Prime Prep (Texas). That game will be shown on ESPN2.

“It was very nice,” Zimmerman, who was named MVP of the game, told SNY.tv. “I’m honored that they took the time to come watch us. I’m glad they could make it. Kids dream about the chance to play on ESPN in front of two of the greatest college coaches ever. I’m glad I played well. I’m very blessed.”
