Harry Giles, the No. 1-rated player in the Class of 2016 according to Scout.com, has chosen a new school, but it’s not his college destination.
The 6-foot-10 five-star recruit out of Wesleyan Christian in North Carolina announced on his Twitter account Wednesday afternoon that he will be attending perennial national power Oak Hill Academy for his senior season.

“Harry has the potential to be one of the best players to ever put on an Oak Hill uniform,” longtime Oak Hill head coach Steve Smith told SNY.tv. “And when it’s said and done, maybe the best. He has advanced his game in the last year and can play multiple positions in the frontcourt. I love the fact that Harry wants to get better on a daily basis.
“He wants to be the best player be can possibly be and I think that’s why he has challenged himself by coming to Oak Hill. He wants to be great.”
Giles is the highest-profile player to transfer to Oak Hill this offseason, joining the likes of Braxton Blackwell, Matt Coleman, Montez Mathis and Mario Kegler.
Giles announced on July 20 that he cut his list of colleges down to five, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, North Carolina and Wake Forest.
