Ivan Rabb and his mother attended Cal’s 73-50 loss to Arizona on Saturday night in Berkeley but did not tour the campus.
“Both Ivan and I were at the game,” Tami Rabb told SNY.tv. “We did watch the game though. Arizona played to my expectations. It was a good game. Cal played hard but they really need some players who can shoot the ball.”
The 6-foot-11 Rabb out of Oakland (CA) Bishop O’Dowd is considering Cal and Arizona, along with Kentucky, Kansas and UCLA. He will sign in the spring.
ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported on ESPNU last week that Cal coach Cuonzo Martin offered Rabb’s high school coach, Lou Richie, a job at Cal when Martin was first hired, but Richie declined. Still, Cal is heavily in the mix.
“I have the best relationship with Cuonzo Martin,” Rabb said then. “Him being so close, I can basically go up there whenever I want.”
In terms of future visits Rabb knows he plans to officially visit Cal, Kansas and UCLA, although no dates have been set yet.
“We will be visiting but to the best of my knowledge Ivan has not confirmed a date,” Tami said of the rescheduled Kansas visit.
