Jordan Tucker , a 6-foot-7 2017 wing from White Plains (N.Y.) Archbishop Stepinac, took an unofficial visit to St. John’s on Friday and enjoyed it.
“It was good,” he said. “I just went to work out and play.”
Tucker, ranked No. 30 in the 2017 ESPN 60, played an open gym with the team, which includes nine newcomers under first-year coach Chris Mullin.
Mullin and his staff would love to keep Tucker at home, and is making him one of their priorities in 2017, along with Mohamed Bamba, Trevon Duval, Andre Rafus, Sid Wilson, Eric Ayala, Brian Bowen and Billy Preston.
“I could definitely see myself at St. John’s,” Tucker said. “It would be nice to stay home and put on my for my city, but I still have to go where it’s the right fit for me.”
Tucker also holds offers from Kansas, N.C. State, Oregon, Indiana, Arizona, Villanova, Maryland, Syracuse, UConn and Seton Hall, among others.
Next up is a visit to Maryland for its Magic Maryland Madness on Oct. 17.
Asked what he likes about Maryland, Tucker said, “I’m going to find out I guess.”
