Malik Beasley made a serious splash this past weekend at the Nike EYBL stop in Sacramento, picking up nine scholarship offers in three days.

The 6-foot-3 junior guard from St. Francis (Ga.) picked up offers from St. John’s, Tennessee, Auburn, Texas Tech, Georgia Tech, Ole’ Miss, Seton Hall, Florida State and SMU.

“My weekend was fantastic,” Beasley told SNY.tv. “I had a great weekend scoring the ball, and being a leader, so I feel like I had a good weekend.”

Beasley said it felt good to finally get the recognition that he had been working hard to get over the past couple years.

“It really felt good,” Beasley said. “I think a lot of coaches knew about me, but it was really nice.”

When Beasley was asked to describe his game, the answer came to him pretty easily.

“I’m just a leader,” Beasley said. “I can score, rebound the ball, and play defense. Whatever my coach needs me to do, I feel like I can do it.”

The No. 34-ranked shooting guard by 247 Sports, Beasley currently plays opposite of highly ranked class of 2016 point guard Kobi Simmons, creating one of the best backcourts in high school basketball.

“Georgia is a really tough state for basketball,” Beasley said. “We have a lot of good players, and we all know each other, so when we do play each other it is seriously competitive.”

Looking forward to next year, Beasley says that he has some specific goals that he is looking to accomplish.

“I want to be a McDonald’s All-American,” Beasley said. “I want to make it to Peach Jam, as well as the All-American Camp.”

At the moment, it sure looks as if Beasley is on his way.
