Moustapha Diagne, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Sparta (N.J.) Pope John XXIII, will announce his college choice on Saturday after playing in the Mary Kline Classic at West Orange (N.J.) High School, he told SNY.tv.
Diagne will choose either Syracuse or Memphis.
Two other 2015 Syracuse commits — Malachi Richardson and Frank Howard — are also in the Mary Kline event.
Through 12 games on the EYBL circuit with the Playaz Basketball Club, Diagne is averaging 9.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.7 blocks.
Diagne visited Syracuse in February for the epic Duke game and “Syracuse is still very involved,” Pope John coach Jason Hasson told SNY.tv last month.
“Memphis is coming in hard,” he added. “Mainly I hear from Coach [Josh] Pastner but also Aki Collins.”
Diagne holds offers from Syracuse, Villanova, Memphis, Penn State, Rutgers. St. John’s, Cincinnati, UConn, Seton Hall, West Virginia, Temple, Cleveland State, Oregon State, Iona, Manhattan, La Salle and Rhode Island.
