Myles Turner ‘Excited’ for Oklahoma State Visit

Myles Turner is one of the last big-time uncommitted recruits in the Class of 2014 and he will take his next official visit this coming weekend to Oklahoma State, as previously reported by SNY.tv.

“I’m definitely excited to get down there to see the campus and see everything they have to offer,” the 6-foot-11 big man from Trinity (TX) Euless wrote on his USA Today blog. “I’m looking forward to hanging out with Marcus Smart and Phil Forte. We’re all from the same area so we should have a good time hanging out.

Turner has also taken an official to Ohio State, but has not yet decided where else he will take officials. He is also considering Kansas, Arizona, Duke, Texas and SMU, among others.

“A lot of the players that are already committed to the schools that are recruiting me have been reaching out to me lately,” Turner wrote. “I’ve talked to Jahlil Okafor and Justise Winslow about coming to Duke, Stanley Johnson texted my dad, D’Angelo Russell has been hitting me up and Phil Forte’s dad has been talking to my parents here lately too.

“It’s tough because everyone has a great pitch and I really can’t go wrong wherever I decide to go. It’ll be tough, but I know since I’m taking my time that I will make the right decision in the end.”

Duke is pitching that Turner can coexist with Okafor in a big man combination at Duke, and Turner sounds intrigued by the idea of playing with another big.

“I do want to say that after more consideration and talking to some of the different coaching staffs I definitely feel like I can play with any player that’s coming in,” he wrote. “I kind of jumped to a conclusion earlier, but I feel confident that I can play with anyone and be successful.”

Turner is projected as the No. 2 pick in the 2015 NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com.

He is averaging 17.7 points, 12.2 rebounds, 6.8 blocks and 3.2 assists this season.

“Despite constant double- and triple-teams, Myles is finding every way to help this team be successful,” Euless coach Mark Villines told SNY.tv.
