Myles Turner Wraps Up Home Visits, Will Huddle With Family Over Weekend

Turner Mickey'DMyles Turner, the last uncommitted five-star recruit in the Class of 2014, wrapped up the last of his home visits on Wednesday night and will huddle with his family to come to a decision over the weekend.

The 6-foot-11 Turner is set to announce April 30 at 4 p.m. on ESPNU.

Turner had home visits Wednesday night with Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski and Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford.

Kansas was in on Sunday, and Texas and Texas A&M on Monday.

“We’re all wrapped up, everything went fine,” David Turner, the player’s father, told SNY.tv. “No pitches [were made], they just talked about how Myles will fit in and how he’ll work with their program.

“It’s just good to hear from the head coaches and knowing that they definitely have a plan for him.”

Turner is officially considering seven schools — the aforementioned five plus SMU and Ohio State — but those latter two did not come for home visits because, David said, they didn’t ask for them.

“Coaches didn’t ask for them,” David said. “If coaches wanted one, we definitely would’ve gave them one.”

Now the family plans to huddle over the weekend and go over the schools.

“We’re going to shut down Myles’ contact so we can all sit down and go over everything and talk about all seven schools,” David said.

“We have to sit down as a family and still talk. Myles is at school and my wife is at work and they’re at school, so Saturday will be the first time we can sit down as a family and really put things on the table, so we’re hoping by Monday evening, Tuesday morning, we’ll know exactly what we’re doing.”

Last week at the Jordan Classic, Myles broke down all seven schools on his list:

Duke: “I feel like I fit in because Coach K has coached a lot of versatile bigs and that’s kind of what I am at this point. I feel like he’s one of the best coaches in college basketball.”

Kansas: “Kansas, I like the high-low system that Coach Self runs, due to the fact that I can play both the high and the low in that system with Cliffand a couple of other bigs over there. That would be really cool to be a part of.”

SMU: “I really like Coach Larry Brown. I watched them play a lot this year. They get up and down the floor. That’s kind of where my game is, I like to run in transition. And being connected to Coach Brown has a big appeal to it.”

Texas: “It’s in my backyard. Hopefully I can come down there and make an impact like Kevin Durant did. If I were to be able to do that, it would be pretty cool.”

Oklahoma State: “I like the fact that I can come in there and immediately make an impact on their program because they’re losing a lot of people next year and that overall appeal to the Big 12, to go down there and make an impact that would be pretty cool.”

Texas A&M: “Coach Billy Kennedy, they need a big down there. They’ve been recruiting me for a long time. To come down there and do that, that would be a good experience.”

Ohio State: “They need a big as well. They don’t have a true center at this point. Coach [Thad] Matta, I really like him and his whole coaching staff. I”ve talked to them, they’re one of the schools that I’ve talked to the most.”
