Rolling Stones Play London’s 02 Arena

The Rolling Stones played before some 20,000 fans last night (Sunday) at London’s 02 Arena in their first show since 2007.

“I’ve watched lots of bands, and that’s as good as I’ve seen,” Mark Blake, 34, a warehouse worker from Stamford, England told USA Today. “The music has stood the test of time. … They sounded great.”

In honor of the band’s 50th anniversary, bassist Bill Wyman, 76, played with The Stones for the first time since the early ’90s and Jeff Beck, Mick Taylor and Mary J. Blige also helped out.

The Stones will play their only U.S. shows next month with one concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn (Dec. 8) and two performances at The Prudential Center in Newark (Dec. 13 & 15).
