Sampson Still Considering Tennessee

Despite the NCAA investigation into Tennessee, star forward JaKarr Sampson is still considering the Volunteers.

“JaKarr and his mother say that people are human and subject to mess up from time to time,” said Don Anderson, Sampson’s AAU coach.

“Coach [Bruce] Pearl and his staff are good people.”

He added: “To us, Coach Pearl is is a good guy regardless of what happened and  Tennessee is still in good shape. It has no bearing on his decision.”

The 6-foot-8 Sampson visited UT last weekend and is considering the Vols along with Baylor, St. John’s and Kansas, he said.

An Akron, Ohio native, he is now enrolled at Brewster (N.H.) Academy.

Tennessee is being investigated by the NCAA about possible violations during a 17-month investigation of his program.
