Kevin Ollie has agreed in principle to a contract extension that could pay him $15 million over five years, according to Yahoo! Sports.

The deal would make Ollie the highest-paid coach in the American Athletic Conference at about $3 million per year.

SMU coach Larry Brown reportedly makes $2.8 million annually.

SNY.tv reported earlier this month that Ollie was due to make a minimum of $2.6 million going forward after winning the NCAA championship last month.

“He had to be the top guy in the league,” a source told SNY.tv.

Ollie reportedly earned $1.25 million last season and in December 2012 signed a five-year deal worth $7.5 million.

Ollie had reportedly drawn interest from several NBA teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers.
