The Nike Hoop Summit will return to Moda Center in Portland, Oregon, on Saturday, April 8, 2023. The Nike Hoop Summit will feature both a men’s and the inaugural women’s game with top American high school athletes facing off against a World Team of top international players 19-and-younger. Tickets for the doubleheader go on sale at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT on Tuesday, Dec. 13 and start at $10. Rosters will be announced at a later date.

“The Nike Hoop Summit has been a great event to showcase the USA’s top talent against the World’s top talent on an annual basis,” USA Basketball CEO Jim Tooley said. “With the addition of a women’s game, there is another opportunity for our top women’s players to compete on an international stage. USA Basketball appreciates Nike’s continued partnership and support of the women’s and men’s junior national team programs.”

The 2022 Nike Hoop Summit men’s game featured the consensus top three men’s high school senior prospects in the University of Arkansas’s Nick Smith Jr. and Duke University teammates Dereck Lively II and Dariq Whitehead. Led by Villanova University’s Cam Whitmore, who scored 19 points, the USA got a 102-80 victory over the World Team. Jean Montero, who played for the New York Knicks at the 2022 NBA Summer League, led the World Team with a game-high 23 points.

An impressive 253 Nike Hoop Summit alumni have been drafted into the NBA, with 14 having been selected with the No. 1 pick and 90 having been selected in the top 10.

“We are proud of the platform the Nike Hoop Summit has provided for athletes to showcase their talents,” Tooley added. “We are looking forward to watching the game’s young stars, both men and women, continue to build on this opportunity.”

The Nike Hoop Summit has been a stage for basketball’s budding stars for over two decades, with some of the NBA’s biggest stars turning in key performances. In the inaugural game, Kevin Garnett recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds and nine blocks; Dirk Nowitzki recorded 33 points and helped the World Team to a win in 1998; and in 2000, Tony Parker had 20 points and seven assists. The USA boasts a 16-7 series advantage over the World Team.

Held annually since 1995 (with the exception of 2001-03 and 2020-21), the Nike Hoop Summit has been held in Portland since 2008.
