NEW YORK — Isaiah Briscoe doesn’t plan on announcing his college choice anytime soon, which could mean that his list will change and fluctuate in the coming weeks and months.

“I’m going to decide as late as possible,” the 6-foot-3 Roselle (N.J.) Catholic guard told me at the Elite 24. “l just want to sit back and just see who’s going to the NBA and things like that.”

Briscoe is considering St. John’s, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Arizona, Louisville and Villanova, but it’s possible more schools could enter the mix if he doesn’t announce until next spring.

Briscoe and his family will also get a chance to see how the local schools — St. John’s, Seton Hall and Rutgers — do this upcoming season and how he might fit in.

Also, as he said, he can determine which players leave and which return from all of the above rosters, as well any coaching changes that might take place.

Briscoe was chosen for the Elite 24 game this past Saturday, but was unable to play because of a fractured foot.

He said the doctor told him “three more weeks in a boot and after that I can begin rehabbing.”

Briscoe is coming off a brilliant summer in which he won gold with the USA U18 team at the FIBA Americas Championship and also won the Peach Jam with the NJ Playaz.

“We had a great run in Peach Jam and I was blessed with another great opportunity at USA Basketball,” he said. “God has just been great to me, so I just thank him.

“To be the first team to win Peach Jam for Coach Jim [Salmon], it was just a great moment.”

Briscoe and Roselle Catholic will now be the favorite to win the New Jersey Tournament of Champions this season.

“The sky’s the limit for us,” he said. “Everybody’s coming back and we have a few good incoming freshmen, so we’re the favorites to win the TOC, so we just gotta go on the court and perform.”
