If Nick Wiggins has his way, his brother Andrew will reclassify to 2013 and be at Kentucky next fall.
“I would love to see him go to Kentucky,” Nick, a 6-foot-6 wing who will attend Wichita State, told NorthPoleHoops.com in the above video about his younger brother.
Andrew Wiggins is a 6-7 wing who is arguably the top player in North America not currently in the NBA. He has yet to announce whether he will reclassify to 2013 from 2014, but his brother says he’s ready.
“Personally, I think he’s ready now,” Nick said. “…Personally, I think the class of 2013, that would be a good class for him to come out in now and showcase his talents because he’s ready.”
Asked if he had anything left to prove by staying in high school until 2014, Andrew said, “Nothing, I got nothing to prove. I proved myself over the summer.”
Andrew told SNY.tv in July that Kentucky and Florida State were “after me the hardest.”
“I know it’s a lot crazier for him because he has every school in the country,” Nick said of Andrew’s recruitment. “I mean, we have fun about it. We talk about it all the time.
“My favorite for him would probably be Kentucky.”
Wiggins is slated to play in the Under Armor Elite 24 this weekend in Venice Beach, CAlif.
The game airs live on ESPNU at 7 p.m. Saturday, while the slam dunk contest will air Friday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
“AAU season has me worn out but right now I’m just trying to relax, enjoy time with my family and friends before summer’s over,” Wiggins said, “because I know next year, the next couple years, will be crazy for me so I’m just trying to live life right now while I can.”
