NEWARK – It’s tough to stop a 7-foot-3 man from soaring toward the basket and dunking home alley-oops.
And there’s not much you can do when that same man extends his arms to the heavens and sends shot attempts careening away from the basket area.
That man was Hasheem Thabeet and Seton Hall had no answer for him as he put up career-highs of 25 points and 20 rebounds to go with nine blocks to lead No. 1 UConn to a 62-54 victory over the Pirates at The Prudential Center. The Huskies have now won 13 straight.
