ENGLEWOOD, N.J. — Rafer Alston could have been just about anywhere on this humid summer afternoon.
He could have been lying on a beach in the Caribbean, recuperating from a long and successful NBA season.
After helping the Magic reach the NBA Finals, where his team fell to Kobe Bryant and the Lakers, Alston was traded to the Nets in the deal that sent Vince Carter to Orlando.
