NEWPORT, R.I. – The man who was the Rutgers quarterback for the past several seasons is now on the roster of the Seattle Seahawks.
With Mike Teel now playing on Sundays, there is a new era in Piscataway and the quarterback competition for the 2009 season is wide open.
“It doesn’t make the fans comfortable sometimes because everybody’s concern is, ‘Oh, well we don’t have a quarterback.’ We have plenty of quarterbacks; it’s just a matter of who’s going to be the starter on opening day [Sept. 7 against Cincinnati],” Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernetti said at Big East Football Media Day. “I think the beauty of college football is that you’re constantly introducing new personalities to it.”
