GREENBURGH, N.Y. — The 2009 Knicks’ season has just begun and already the focus is on 2010.
When the Knicks hosted their annual media day Monday at their Westchester campus, many of the players answered hypothetical questions about the future.
LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh all become free agents next summer, and the Knicks have set themselves up to be under the salary cap so they can make a serious run at James and — cap room permitting — a superstar sidekick.
“I hope they do get LeBron,” Knicks center Eddy Curry said. “I hope I’m still here to play with him. If not, this city deserves a player like that.”
