  • Tobias Harris and Kyrie Irving together in college?

Imagine what a dangerous tandem that would be for some lucky college program.

It could happen if both seniors choose the same school.

But at this point the two stars would have to both select Kentucky, which they visited this weekend for Big Blue Madness, or Georgia Tech, which both will visit in the coming weeks.

“We talked about that but both of us don’t have a leader in this process and the only schools recruiting us both are Kentucky and Georgia Tech,” the 6-foot-8 Harris from Dix Hills (N.Y.) Half Hollow Hills West, second from right in the above photo, said Sunday night by text.

NEW YORK — Defending NBA Slam Dunk champ Nate Robinson now says he’ll enter the 2010 Dunk Contest if LeBron James does.

“To be in that dunk contest with LeBron, I think that will be awesome,” the 5-foot-9 Robinson said before the Knicks faced Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv Sunday at Madison Square Garden.

With the Knicks hoping LeBron will sign with them as a free agent next summer, maybe Robinson should bet James that he will have to sign with New York if Robinson beats him.

Asked if the two would have a wager on the contest, Robinson said: “I just want to win. Beating [James] would be better than anything.”

Kyrie Irving and Tobias Harris have been remarkably consistent throughout their recruiting processes.

Both high school seniors have insisted they will take all of their college visits before deciding.

Duke still looks like the leader for Irving, and Syracuse would appear to lead for Harris.

But both plan on finishing their visits despite having a great time at Kentucky’s “Big Blue Madness.”

“Yes, I plan to,” Irving said by text Saturday night after returning from Kentucky. “All the places that are on my list I can see myself playing at.”

Dashaun Wiggins, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound 2011 wing from Bridgton (Me.) Academy, has verbally committed to Seton Hall.

“Yes, a few minutes ago,” Wiggins, a Bronx native, said Saturday afternoon.

Wiggins chose Seton Hall over St. John’s, Hofstra, George Mason, Florida State and Arkansas.

Wiggins still has some academic work to do in order to qualify, according to sources.

“They seemed more interested in me,” Wiggins said, referring to Seton Hall head coach Bobby Gonzalez and assistant Dermon Player. “Bobby said he really wanted me and they said I could contribute.”

Wiggins has known Player since he was 11 years old and played for “Team Next.”

I was at the Pittsburgh-Rutgers football game last night, but Midnight Madness festivities tipped off around the nation. Here’s a brief rundown on a few high profile events.

    UCONN

Some 9,000 fans turned out at Gampel Pavillion to support the Huskies on First Night.

6-8 Oak Hill (Va.) forward Roscoe Smith is considering Duke, UConn and Georgetown. He has already visited Georgetown and was at UConn on Friday.

“I’m a versatile-type player. I can do it all,” Smith told David Borges of The New Haven Register. “Anything the coach needs of me, I can do.”
