When the most important phone call of his life came Thursday night, Devin McCourty was in the bathroom of his Nanuet, N.Y., home.
“I had actually run to the bathroom and I heard my phone ringing,” McCourty said Friday on a conference call. “They came banging on the door. They said: ‘Answer the phone. Answer the phone.’ As soon as I got out of the bathroom, I answered the phone and I was talking to Coach [Bill] Belichick.”
“Are you ready to be a Patriot?” Belichick asked.
