HURLEY, WAGNER SIGN WITH UNDER ARMOUR
While Bob Hurley has been a longtime Reebok man, and his son, Dan, was a Nike man at St. Benedict’s, times are-a-changin’ for the Hurley Clan.
Dan Hurley, now the head coach at Wagner College, agreed to a multi-year deal with Under Armour.
“We are very excited about our new partnership with Under Armour, an industry leader who truly helps athletes perform better,” Hurley said in a statement. “Under Armour has a terrific roster of collegiate basketball partners, and their commitment to Wagner is a testament to the hard work of our players and staff. Under Armour is providing our team with state-of-the-art apparel, footwear and accessories, and, more importantly, they are giving our student-athletes the best chance to succeed.”
“Wagner is a program on the rise, and we look forward to partnering with Coach Dan Hurley and celebrating a new era of Seahawk basketball,” said Matt Mirchin, Senior Vice President, Sports Marketing, Under Armour. “Under Armour has long supported and admired the great tradition of New York City basketball, and we are excited to supplement our grassroots initiatives with this key partnership. Collaborating with the Wagner team will have an immediate impact for our brand and will build positive momentum as we bring Under Armour basketball shoes to market for the first time.”
In other Wagner news, Hurley hired former St. Ben’s assistant Scott Smith as his Director of Basketball Operations.
