The Pirates were picked 11th in the 16-team Big East, which both players said will motivate the team to finish higher. “Yes, that’s a spot back from last year,” Robinson said. “So that’s a great motivation. That’s going to help everybody else on the team work harder. And I’m going to post that in my dorm room so I look at that every day.” Hazell went out on a limb and predicted that the Pirates would make the NCAA tournament under first-year coach Kevin Willard. “Definitely,” he said.
