St. John’s 59-57 win Sunday at Cincinnati definitely boosted their NCAA tournament resume.

The Johnnies improved to 15-9, 7-5 in the Big East.

If they win two of their remaining six league games — which includes home games with DePaul and South Florida — they will have 17 wins and be 9-9 in the league. Obviously, if they get three wins, they would have 18 and 10 league wins.

“This is something we’ve all wanted when we were recruited to come here,” senior point guard Malik Boothe told Lenn Robbins of the Post.

“We wanted to rebuild St. John’s, get back to the tournament, win for us and lay the foundation for the following classes after us.”
