UConn has offered 6-foot-8 power forward Alex Poythress of Clarkesville (Tenn.) Northeast, according to a report.
“I was pretty excited,” Poythress told The Tennesseean. “They gave me a call after I played at the Boo Williams (Nike Invitational) tournament in Virginia in April.”
The No. 11 power forward in the Class of 2012 per Rivals, Poythress also claims offers from Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Florida.
“I haven’t narrowed anything down yet,” Poythress told The Tennessean.
Duke, Ohio State, Kentucky and Louisville are also in the mix for Poythress, who averaged 22.3 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.1 blocks, 1.4 steals and 1.2 assists last season.
