  • Four schools are standing out for Shabazz Muhammad and he has had second thoughts about UCLA, according to comments the 6-foot-6 Las Vegas Bishop Gorman small forward gave Jerry Meyer of Rivals.com.

Muhammad said that Duke, Kentucky, UCLA and UNLV are the four schools that stand out to him, Meyer wrote from the City of Palms Classic in Fort Meyers, Fla.

He also said UCLA’s start had affected his recruitment.

“It affected it when UCLA was losing early,” Muhammad said. “It had me thinking how I’d fit in. It’s tough. I don’t want to go to a school on the down turn. But I think they can turn it around.”

Baron Davis cleared waivers Friday night but it remains unclear if the Knicks have serious interest in the former Cleveland Cavaliers point guard.

Davis was amnestied Wednesday and has two years and $28 million remaining on his contract.

Davis would reportedly like to go to either the Knicks or the Los Angeles Lakers, but he is suffering from bulging discs in his back. His agent, Todd Ramasar, says he will be sidelined 8-10 weeks.

Chris Obekpa, the 6-foot-9 shot-blocker from Our Savior New American, is planning his official visits.

Eric Jaklitsch, assistant coach at Our Savior, said Obekpa has offers from UConn, Cincinnati, St. John’s, DePaul, Providence, Seton Hall, West Virginia, Florida, UCLA, Texas and Georgia Tech.

Kentucky and Maryland are also involved.

He has taken unofficials to St. John’s, Seton Hall, Providence and Georgia Tech.

Former Seton Hall star Jeremy Hazell is in camp with the Phoenix Suns and awaiting word on his future.

“He actually has a shot,” Seth Cohen, Hazell’s agent, told SNY.tv Friday. “They wanted him to focus on defense and show that he’s going to give it everything he’s got on the defensive end.

“It’s gonna be tight. They have a bunch of guarantees [contracts] but he does have a shot.”

The Suns play their exhibition games Tuesday and Thursday against the Denver Nuggets.

While St. John’s prepares to play Fordham Saturday at Madison Square Garden, the most important developments for the program are taking place away from New York City.

Johnnies coach Steve Lavin was in Fort Meyers, Fla., at the City of Palms Classic, where he spent Friday afternoon watching Ricardo Gathers and Reserve (La.) Riverside beat 2013 point guard Jaren Sina and Gill St. Bernard’s 80-73 in double-OT.

The Rolling Stones will turn 50 years old in 2012 — meaning they’ve been together more than seven times longer than The Beatles — and the world is expecting some form of anniversary party.

“They have to do something for the 50th anniversary tour, but what?” a source who has worked with the band for several decades told me.

The source said the band recently met in London but nothing has been resolved.

“Right now, it’s still up in the air,” the source said. “You’ll see the Stones live but whether or not it’s going to be a major tour or oddball shows here and there is still up in the air.”
