Florida transfer Walter Pitchford Jr. is headed to Nebraska.
His father told SNY.tv Saturday that the 6-foot-10 Pitchford signed with the Cornhuskers over Illinois and Michigan.
“It was a place where he can start over,” Walter Pitchford Sr. told SNY.tv. “They’re in a rebuilding mode with Tim Miles and he liked the opportunity.
“He liked the facilities and it seems like a good fit with the coaching staff too for him.”
Pitchford played in 13 games this past season for the Gators, scoring six points with four rebounds. He played 22 minutes.
Pitchford Jr. finished up at East Lansing (Mich.) Summit Christian Academy.
He must sit a year per NCAA transfer regulations unless he gets a hardship waiver.
