  • Jordan Dickerson enjoyed his visit this week to Auburn and plans to check out SMU next Wednesday, his uncle told SNY.tv.

“No, he didn’t commit [to Auburn],” Darrell Crawford told SNY.tv, referring to the 7-footer from Brooklyn. “He liked [Auburn].”

Dickerson visited the SEC school after the tragedy involving the shooting death of three people, including two former Auburn football players.

“It was crazy,” Crawford said. “It was quiet where he was at.”

Steve Novak was present Wednesday at the all-important Bird Rights hearing and expects a decision within the next two weeks.

Both Novak and Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin become free agents July 1.

If the Knicks and the Players’  Association win the case, the team would not have to use its $5 million mid-level exception on Lin or Novak, and could instead spend it on a veteran point guard like Steve Nash.

Jarnell Stokes couldn’t wait to help Team USA in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Brazil, but he had just one request entering the event.

He wanted to change his uniform number to 13.

Stokes hoped to honor Trey Erwin, a 15 year-old Collierville (Tenn.) High School football player who was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. Erwin wears No. 13 on the football field.

When Larry Brown and SMU join the Big East in 2013, Jim Boeheim and Syracuse will likely be playing their first season in the ACC.

So the two legendary coaches likely won’t get to match up during Big East play, and Brown says the league will never adequately replace Syracuse — or Pittsburgh, which is also leaving for the ACC.

“I don’t know if you could ever duplicate what Boeheim’s done or what [Pittsburgh coach] Jamie [Dixon]’s done and [former Pitt] Coach [Ben] Howlands’s done, but those other programs are pretty darn good,” Brown told SNY.tv.
