Neil Young & Crazy Horse have announced their first tour dates since 2004 in support of their new album Americana.
Patti Smith and Los Lobos will open on various dates.
The album, which hits stores June 5, features the band doing what Rolling Stone has called “gritty, ragged and rocking renditions of American folk classics” such as “Oh! Susanna,” “Gallows Pole” and “This Land Is Your Land,” plus a stomping, album-closing version of “God Save the Queen.”

Rutgers sophomore guard Austin Carroll has received a medical redshirt and plans to transfer, his father confirmed to SNY.tv.
Carroll will have three years of eligibility remaining at his next stop after recovering from meniscus surgery his freshman year at Rutgers and being limited to 10 games last year.
“He just got a medical redshirt so now he is looking for a school,” John Carroll, Austin’s father, told SNY.tv.
Every day while practicing with the Puerto Rico Senior National Team, Fordham’s Chris Gaston gets to test himself against NBA players like Renaldo Balkman and J.J. Barea.
“They’ve taken me under their wing,” the 6-foot-7 Gaston told SNY.tv by phone from San Juan. “I hang out with Renaldo [a former Knick] every day. I always ask him questions and stuff. He’s been in the league for a couple years. He’s been like a big brother to me.”

Sam Harrell says the addition of his son to the Louisville basketball team could help the Cardinals win a national championship in 2013.
“Adding him to the scenario, I think they feel like they can win a national title,” Sam Harrell told SNY.tv by phone after his son, 6-foot-8 power forward Montrezl Harrell, committed Sunday to the Cardinals.
Louisville won the Big East Tournament championship and reached the Final Four in 2012 and are now loaded for bear going forward.
Hofstra has landed a late commitment from 2012 point guard Kentrell Washington of Las Vegas Clark High School.
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Washington also held offers from Hartford and Eastern Washington.
“I chose Hofstra because I feel it was the best fit for me and I felt it was going to be a place that I can excel at,” he said by text. “They made me feel welcome.”
Chad Beeten, Washington’s high school coach, said Hofstra coach Mo Cassara was getting a “savvy” guard who averaged 14.5 points, 7.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds last season.
