Special to ZAGSBLOG Seemingly a formality with Rasheed Wallace done for the regular season, Marcus Camby just working his way back from a two-month bout with plantar fasciitis and the Knicks looking for insurance in the frontcourt, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon that it has signed veteran forward Kenyon Martin to a second 10-day contract. The former No. 1 overall pick out of Cincinnati had not played in the NBA this season until signing a 10-day contract with the Knicks on Feb. 23. Since then, he has only played in one game, against the Golden State Warriors on Feb. 27. There, he only saw five minutes of action off the bench and did not record any stats. When this 10-day contract expires on March 14, the Knicks will need to decide whether or not the they want to sign him for the remainder of the season. For his career, the 35-year-old Martin holds career averages of 13 points and seven rebounds across 13 seasons. He is the only No. 1 pick in NBA history to ever be signed to a 10-day contract. MELO QUESTIONABLE Carmelo Anthony has a stiff/sore right knee and is listed as questionable for tomorrow at Detroit, the Knicks announced. Anthony injured his right knee with 6:42 to play in the first half of Monday’s come-from-behind 102-97 win at the Cleveland Cavaliers. Anthony appeared to trip near mid-court without contact, went to the locker room and did not return. He scored six points while shooting just 1-for-5 from the field. Anthony told reporters in Cleveland that the knee had been bothering him for a few weeks and that the results of an MRI taken “a couple days ago” were negative.
