  • NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — New Butler coach Brandon Miller stood front and center at the end of the court to watch Trey Lyles last week at the Peach Jam.

Miller had only been the Bulldogs coach for four days once the Peach Jam started, but he knew he had to make the 6-foot-8 Lyles a priority.

College coaches are not permitted to comment on recruitable student-athletes, but speaking generally Miller told SNY.tv:

“The guys that we were recruiting before the announcement was made on [July 6] that I was the head coach are the majority of the same guys that we’re still recruiting,” Miller told SNY.tv.

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Terry Larrier continues to add offers to his increasingly long list.

The 6-foot-8 Team Scan small forward has picked up offers from Arizona, UConn, VCU, SMU and LSU in recent days, Team Scan coach Terrance “Munch” Williams told SNY.tv at the Peach jam.

UConn head coach Kevin Ollie, VCU head coach Shaka Smart, Arizona’s Sean Miller and Book Richardson, SMU’s Larry Brown and LSU’s Johnny Jones all watched Larrier at Peach Jam.

“There have been so many different schools coming, and every day it’s someone else,” Williams said.

    So much for China.

Metta World Peace has agreed to a two-year deal worth $3.2 million with his hometown New York Knicks. The news was first reported according Yahoo! Sports. The second year is a player option.

World Peace had texted SNY.tv Sunday saying, “I’m going to China.”

Instead, the Queensbridge native and former St. John’s star is coming home to the Knicks, who famously passed on him in the 1999 NBA Draft in favor of Frederic Weis.

After performing in front of some of the biggest names in college basketball this past weekend at the Peach Jam, Luke Kennard and V.J. King both picked up some high-major offers.

The 6-foot-5 Kennard, a 2015 combo guard, added offers Sunday from Kentucky, Duke and Michigan State, his father confirmed to SNY.tv.

“Yes, he was very excited,” Mark Kennard said of Luke.

“[Calipari] said he was excited about Luke and that he was really skilled and he wanted him in a Kentucky uniform. Luke is appreciative and feels blessed.”

Kentucky coach John Calipari, Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and Michigan State coach Tom Izzo all watched Kennard with the King James Shooting Stars 16U team at the Peach Jam, as did Louisville coach Rick Pitino.

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — It may be only a matter of time before the ACC Tournament comes to Madison Square Garden — and you can count Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and North Carolina’s Roy Williams among those who’d like to see it happen.

“We have New York, we should use it,” Coach K told SNY.tv at the Peach Jam. “If we don’t use it, we’re foolish. We use [Madison Square Garden] at Duke, we come there every year.”

Both Coach K and Williams said they would at least be in favor of rotating the ACC Tournament through the Garden — if not having it there every year.
