  • Former Syracuse sharpshooter James Southerland has found a home.

Southerland will go to training camp with the Charlotte Bobcats.

The 6-foot-8 Queens native went undrafted this year but played with the Philadelphia 76ers in the Orlando summer league and with the Golden State Warriors in Las Vegas.

“He hasn’t signed yet but we have an agreement that he will sign with [Charlotte] probably right after Labor Day,” agent Mark Bartelstein told SNY.tv.

As expected, Huntington (W.V.) Prep point guard Josh Perkins committed to Gonzaga on Saturday morning.

“Officially committed to university of Gonzaga!!” he Tweeted.

The 6-foot-2 point guard also considered UCLA and Minnesota.

“Gonzaga has been there from day one,” Randy Perkins, Josh’s father, told SNY.tv this summer.

“There’s something to be said for being there from day one. When Josh is interviewed the first thing out of his mouth is he wants a coach to be there both on and off the court for him. For that, Gonzaga rates really high.”

“Coach [Mark] Few’s been there since day one. He’s at every game. Josh is really excited when he sees the head coach there.”

NEW YORK — Emmanuel Mudiay will announce his college choice on Saturday at the Elite 24, with at least one source close to the recruitment telling SNY.tv Mudiay is expected to pick SMU over Kentucky, Baylor, Kansas and Oklahoma State.

In this video interview done Thursday afternoon, the 6-foot-4 Mudiay out of Dallas (TX) Prime Prep gave no hint that he would be announcing Saturday night.

“I’m just taking it day by day, but we’re going to see,” he said. “We’re going to see.”

Mudiay breaks down all five schools in the video.

A Dallas native, he has visited SMU several times unofficially and has repeatedly said he likes the fact that SMU is close to home and that head coach Larry Brown is a father figure.

“Larry Brown, I’m real close to him,” he said. “He’s a good coach, good person, first off. I’m real close with their staff but that’s with a lot of staffs.

NEW YORK — Houston Hoops wing Justise Winslow plans to cut his list from eight schools to five possibly as early as next week.

“Yeah, I’m going to probably cut it pretty soon to five, so I can get my five officials set,” Winslow told SNY.tv in the above video at the Elite 24. “So that’s something I’m looking to do next week or in the weeks coming.”

The 6-foot-6 Houston Hoops wing is currently considering Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Kansas, Texas A&M, Arizona, UCLA and Stanford, and said it will be tough to cut three of them.

NEW YORK — Brooklyn Lincoln guard Isaiah Whitehead will visit Indiana on Sunday following the Elite 24 game Saturday night in Brooklyn, Lincoln coach Tiny Morton confirmed to SNY.tv.

“Yes, it’s been talked about for a while,” Morton said.

In the above interview with SNY.tv, Whitehead said of Indiana: “They’re showing me a lot of love. They have a great fanbase. The coaches are great. Noah Vonleh has been talking to me a little bit about the school, so it’s just a great program.”

Asked if will take an official to Indiana, Whitehead said, “Yeah, definitely.”

Indiana recently saw shooting guard James Blackmon decommit, but Blackmon will visit Indiana Saturday and Michigan State Sunday, according to Jeff Rabjohns.

Virginia shooting guard Robert Johnson, who is considering seven schools including Indiana, also arrives at Indiana Saturday evening, and 2015 New Jersey wing Malachi Richardson also visits this weekend.

Chris Walker, one of the top recruits in the Class of 2013, may not enroll at Florida until December while he clears up some academic work, according to a report in USA Today.

Florida coach Billy Donovan told the paper that the 6-foot-10 Walker wants to be at Florida “however long that takes.”

Walker is the Rivals No. 1-ranked center in the Class of 2013 and is considered a future NBA prospect.

Meantime, Donovan told USA Today that guard Scottie Wilbekin will eventually play this season after he was suspended for a violation of team rules.

NEW YORK — Josh Martin was in Harlem Thursday night, putting up a double-double of 13 points and 12 boards as Team Reebok lost to Team EBC, 73-72, in the Reebok Basketball Experience at famed Rucker Park.

After the game, the 6-foot-7 power forward out of Bothell (WA) told SNY.tv he was focusing on four schools: Florida State, Pittsburgh, Minnesota and Oklahoma State.

He will take officials to Florida State (Sept. 14), Minnesota (Sept. 20) and Oklahoma State (Sept. 27). (New Jersey guard Wade Baldwin also visits Minnesota  the weekend of Sept. 20.)

“[Pittsburgh] was in recent contact with me, so I’m just right now developing a relationship with them,” Martin said.
