  • Quadri Moore picked Cincinnati over Seton Hall on Tuesday.

The 6-foot-8 Linden (N.J.) High School big man first informed his AAU coaches and the Seton Hall coaching staff of his decision, and then called Cincinnati later Tuesday.

The news was first reported by SNY.tv Tuesday afternoon.

Moore had previously considered Wake Forest, Miami and Temple.

“It’s definitely a relief to have it over with,” Moore told Gannett New Jersey Tuesday night. “As it got to the end, it did get a little stressful and kind of confusing for me. I feel like I made a good decision.”

    What’s going on, everyone?

Jeff Newberry of New Mexico Junior College here giving you my third player blog.

I recently listed my top five schools which I was considering to all fans who were interested.

Texas Tech, LSU, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and UConn. Just recently, Kansas, Louisville, and San Diego State all extended offers and interest and wanted to get into the mix but I chose to stick with the five choices I started with.

Team Scan wing Terry Larrier made his decision Monday, choosing VCU over UConn.

The Bronx native made the call after spending time on the VCU campus this past weekend.

“Basically my relationship with [head coach] Shaka Smart and the whole coaching staff,” the 6-foot-8 Larrier told SNY.tv when asked why he chose the A-10 school. “I think he’s one of the best coaches in the country and I want to play for him.”

Ranked No. 39 in the Class of 2014 by Rivals, Larrier said, “I think I’m the highest-ranked kid to go to VCU. It shows that high-ranked can go to VCU and play for the best coach in the country.”

The possibility of Cliff Alexander and JaQuan Lyle playing together in college appears to be gaining steam.

The two are talking package now as seriously as Jahlil Okafor and Tyus Jones — if not for as long as those two have — with Kansas and Memphis among the schools that could land the dynamic duo.

“[Cliff’s] been telling me that him and JaQuan Lyle are going to play together,”  Alexander’s mother, Latillia, told SNY.tv Monday evening. “That’s the reason JaQuan Lyle decommitted.”

Asked what schools the duo was considering, she said. “We’re not sure yet, we’re not sure yet. I’m thinking wherever Cliff goes, JaQuan Lyle is going to go.”

The two will trip together to Memphis Oct. 18, but won’t take the same visit to Kansas.

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Back in the spring, rumors were flying that Bob Hurley Sr. might be in the mix to take over the unsteady Rutgers situation following Mike Rice’s scandal-ridden departure, at least on a temporary basis.

The Associated Press even ran a story stoking the flames, with a headline indicating that Hurley would “consider taking Rutgers head coach as a caretaker.”

Hurley quickly corrected the record, and Rutgers flirted with hiring Dan Hurley, Bob’s son, before eventually hiring Eddie Jordan, who was in the St. Anthony gym on Monday recruiting.

Meantime, Hurley, the 66-year-old Naismith Hall of Famer, told SNY.tv he planned to remain at St. Anthony for as long as he is able.

“As long as my health is good, I can’t see myself not coaching,” Hurley told SNY.tv.
