Isaiah Whitehead enjoyed his unofficial visit to Seton Hall on Saturday and told SNY.tv that Kevin Willard and his staff told him he could be the face of the program if he were to commit.
“[I] liked everything about it,” the 6-foot-4 Whitehead told SNY.tv. “It’s a great school. I don’t see why people don’t go there.”
Seton Hall has three commits for 2014 in forwards Angel Delgado and Ismael Sanogo and guard Khadeen Carrington.
Paul White, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Chicago Whitney Young, committed to Georgetown Sunday morning.
White had visited Miami and was also considering UConn, Minnesota and DePaul.
“While on my visit here it made me realize this is the place for me,” White told the Chicago Sun Times. “I felt that comfort level I was looking for with the coaching staff, the players and the environment here. It’s a wonderful school with a great basketball tradition and atmosphere. This was the place I could easily see myself going to school and playing.”
Linden (N.J.) 2014 big man Quadri Moore is close to pulling the trigger.
“I’m going to decide something next week on where I want to go,” Moore told SNY.tv Saturday evening.
Sources said the 6-foot-8, 225-pound Moore is down to Seton Hall and Cincinnati, although he previously considered Wake Forest, Miami and Temple.
Seton Hall has enjoyed terrific momentum in recruiting circles in recent weeks. The Pirates last week added 6-3 Brooklyn Bishop Loughlin combo guard Khadeen Carrington to a 2014 class that already included 6-9 Huntington (W.V.) Prep forward Angel Delgado and 6-7 combo forward Ismael Sanogo of Newark East Side.

The rosters for the McDonald’s All-American Game won’t be revealed until February, but at least one member of the selection committee believes Isaiah Whitehead should make the game.
“First of all, I think he made the McDonald’s All-American Game with his performance in the Elite 24,” Konchalski told SNY.tv in reference to Whitehead’s 26-point outing in the game last month in Brooklyn.
“I think he’s one of the top five guards in the nation. I really think he’s had a very good summer. He’s improved tremendously. He worked purposely on his game. He’s become a very, very good shooter thanks to [his trainer] Jason Hernandez and he’s a guy who can really pass.”
