NEW YORK — The way Mats Wilander figures it, trying to determine who owns the title “Greatest of All Time” in tennis is kind of like trying to determine who the greatest rock ‘n’ roll guitarist of all time is.

Is it Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Page? Keith Richards or The Edge?

“I think that the only way you can compare is are the musicians better today than when the Beatles came up or Keith Richards’ guitar playing,” Wilander told SNY.tv at the Open.

“There are obviously better guitar players than Keith Richards, they’re better technically, but they’re not playing with more feel.”

Kentucky pledge Karl Towns Jr. has qualified for the World Cup with the Dominican Republic team, while Canadians Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett could get shut out.

The 7-foot-1 Towns Jr. out of St. Joe’s-Metuchen went scoreless Sunday but the DR qualified for the 2014 FIFA World Championships in Spain with an 86-78 victory over Uruguay at the 2013 FIBA America Championship in Caracas, Venezuela. The Dominicans are coached by Kentucky assistant Orlando Antigua.

“He is so happy to be a part of history,” Karl Towns Sr. told SNY.tv.

Manhattan coach Steve Masiello continued to build on his strong 2014 recruiting class with the addition Sunday of shooter Zane Waterman, a 6-foot-8, 210-pound Steve Novak-type shooter from Fayetteville (N.C.) Academy.

“I just felt like I had a good relationship with the staff and players and I felt they were in a good situation with a great coach,” Waterman told SNY.tv Sunday.

He also considered Charlotte, St. Joe’s, Georgia Southern and Duqesne.

Waterman figures to spread the floor for Manhattan with his shooting ability.

Lourawls “Tum Tum” Nairn took the second of his three official visits this weekend to Oklahoma and said he enjoyed it.

“It was good,” he told SNY.tv. “I’ve been there a lot of times so it was just like home for me because I’ve been there like five times.”

The 5-foot-10 Nairn out of Bel Aire (KS) Sunrise Christian  saw the No. 16 Oklahoma football team beat West Virginia, 16-7.

    “It was cool,” he said.

Dom Uhl, a 6-foot-8, 195-pound forward from Point Pleasant (N.J.) Beach, enjoyed his official visit to Boston College this weekend and heads to Iowa Sept. 19.

“I liked it a lot,” he told SNY.tv of BC. “I like the whole team. Great guys. The coaches and the school have a lot to offer.”

Asked what his role there would be, Uhl said, “I would play the four but they said there’s no difference between the three and the four.”

Next up is Iowa and he is also considering Temple, Miami and Vanderbilt.
