Zach Hodskins, who is missing the lower half of his left arm due to a birth defect, committed to Florida on Saturday night.
“Iv officialy committed to the University of Florida basketball. I know God has put me in the right place #GatorNation #GatorBasketball,” he Tweeted.
“Huge thanks to everyone who has helped me on this long journey! It’s been a long ride! Very thankful for all of you!”
Hodskins had been offered a preferred walk-on spot with the Gators.
“It was just a dream come true. My whole life I’ve worked for this opportunity and the chance to play at a high-level Division 1 basketball program,” Hodskins, a 6-foot-2 junior guard at Milton (Ga.) High School, previously told ESPN.
“When I’m out [on the court], I forget my arm isn’t there and just play ball,” Hodskins told the News-Herald of northern Ohio. “Passion and love for the sport helps me overcome all obstacles. To this day. I haven’t come across anything I can’t do.”
