Jackson Davis is now listing seven schools after adding Florida to his original six.
The 6-foot-8 Lexington (Ky.) Lafayette power forward is down to Alabama, Arizona State, Butler, Columbia, Creighton, Florida and Vanderbilt.
“After much deliberation Jackson has narrowed down his list,” his father, Johnathon, told SNY.tv.
“They all have an immediate need for his skill set. There is no one like him on their rosters. He can play right away and make mistakes without looking over his shoulder.”
After initially trimming to six, Johnathon said Florida “is back in the boat. ”
They have a call scheduled for tonight (Wednesday) with assistant John Pelphrey, but head coach Billy Donovan won’t visit with an offer until Florida, the No. overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, is finished playing.
“He understands we could potentially come to a final conclusion before he gets there,” Johnathon said.
Davis has taken officials to Columbia and Rice (where he previously committed) and has three officials remaining. He will also take two unofficials.
His father said there is “no timetable” on a decision.
“He is a priority for all of these schools,” his father said. “They will wait.”
“Because of the number of visits we want to take and the limited time to take them, it will most likely be at the end of the signing period in May [that he commits],” Ginger Davis told SNY.tv.
