Oak Hill (Va.) Academy point guard Shelton Mitchell plans to announce his college choice later this week after visits to Missouri and Vanderbilt.

“I’ll be deciding end of this week,” he told SNY.tv by text.

N.C. State is also trying to get him on a visit but so far he has taken just the two.

“The [Missouri] visit was great, I liked campus a lot,” Mitchell said before the Vandy visit.

Mitchell was released from his Letter of Intent to Wake Forest after the coaching change.

An extremely smooth and crafty player, the 6-foot-2 Mitchell is ranked No. 88 in the class of 2014 by 247 Sports.

“He’s very under-rated in my opinion,” Oak Hill coach Steve Smith told SNY.tv. “He has great vision and is a passer, a leader and can score the ball.”
