RICHMOND, Va. – After cutting his list to eight schools late last month, 2015 big man Stephen Zimmerman has been hearing from college coaches every day.
“Once I put out that list, everyone has texted me every day and they’re all keeping track of it,” Zimmerman said Saturday after his Oakland Soldiers team defeated All-Ohio Red 69-53 at EYBL Session 3.

HAMPTON, Va. – After an unofficial visit to Maryland on Friday, Shaker Heights and All-Ohio Red forward Esa Ahmad spoke on Saturday about his time in College Park.
“They just took me around campus, [to] visit the dorms and got to look at the Comcast Center, it was a nice campus,” Ahmad said of the visit preceding his team’s games this weekend at EYBL Session 3.
The All-Ohio Red star has garnered the interest and attention of many schools across the nation recently, picking up offers from UNLV and Ohio State.
While some believed that the 6-foot-8 forward would commit to the Buckeyes when receiving the offer, Ahmad said that was not in the plans.

Robert Carter Jr. will visit St. John’s in the near future but no date has been finalized, sources told SNY.tv.
Maryland and South Carolina are also involved, according to Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com.
The former Georgia Tech power forward averaged 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game for the Yellow Jackets in his sophomore year.

Shane Rector has decided to transfer from Missouri after a disappointing freshman season.
“I understand Shane’s desire for extended playing time and will do whatever I can to assist him in this process,” Head Coach Kim Anderson told MUTigers.com. “I certainly want to thank Shane for his time at Missouri and want to wish him and his family all the best.”

The second time was a charm for Jared Terrell and Rhode Island.
After picking Oklahoma State over Rhody and other schools last fall, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound guard out of Brewster (N.H.) Academy chose Rhode Island over Boston College Thursday night. He had previously obtained his release from Oklahoma State.
“I just thought it was a really good fit,” Terrell told SNY.tv by phone. “Me and Coach [Dan] Hurley’s relationship is really strong. There system fits my style of play. They’re going to put me in a postion to succeed.”

Harry Giles is set to return this weekend in Hampton, Va., for the third session on the Nike EYBL Circuit.
When if he asked if he was ready, his answer was clear.
“Yessir! The knee is feeling good,” Giles told SNY.tv. “It’s coming along day by day. When I first get back to playing, I’m going to take it slow, but at the same time, I’m going to want to put on a show. Its going to be gradual though. Just take it step by step. I’m going to be smart and take my time.”
Kentucky small forward James Young is drawing comparisons to Bradley Beal and a young Ray Allen from the ESPN guys at the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago.
The left-hander measured out at 6-foot-6 3/4 with a 7-foot wingspan. ESPN’s Chad Ford has him ranked as the third small forward in the draft behind Jabari Parker and Doug McDermott.
DraftExpress.com has him projected as the No. 15 pick to the Atlanta Hawks.
Young is not competing in the drills in Chicago and is only doing interviews.
“It’s definitely tough just out here watching everybody go to work,” Young told ESPN’s Andy Katz on ESPNU on Friday. “Just having a great time with it, but I’m out here to have fun.”
