Kenny Williams , a 6-foot-2 shooting guard from Chesterfield (VA) Lloyd C. Bird, has committed to VCU.

One of the best shooters in the nation, Williams has elected to play for head coach Shaka Smart and to stay close to home, giving the Rams one of the best perimeter threats in the class of 2015.

“Extremely blessed and excited to announce that I have committed to play my college basketball at VCU! # Williams tweeted.

Williams is ranked No.91 in the class of 2015, and chose VCU over North Carolina, Georgetown, Memphis, Minnesota, Virginia Tech and many others. Williams visited UNC and Georgetown recently.

Williams suited up for Boo Williams alongside of top ranked players including Chris Clarke, Edrice “Bam” Adebayo and Matt Coleman, leading them to a semifinal showing at Peach Jam averaging 13 points per game, shooting 43 percent from 3, and a championship win against Alabama Challenge in Louisville at the Gold Super Showcase.

Williams will be a senior at LC Bird (Va.).
