Desure Buie, a 6-foot, 145-pound point guard from Wings Academy in New York, committed to Hofstra on Friday.
He also considered Manhattan but chose Hofstra “because I like the facilities, they have a great coaching staff and they did a great job recruiting me.”
Buie will pair with shooting guard Justin Wright-Foreman to form Hofstra’s backcourt of the future. The 6-1 Wright-Foreman committed earlier this month.
“We can be really good,” he told SNY.tv. “[I will be] running the show, bringing leadership and the ability to create for others as well as myself.”
Said Wings coach Billy Turnage: “He brings the ability to create shots for others as himself and he has an incredible basketball IQ.”
Hofstra has two scholarships left for 2015.
