Tyus Battle enjoyed his visit to Duke for their Midnight Madness, and has no other visits currently planned.
“It was a great visit,” Gary Battle, the player’s father, told SNY.tv. “Tyus enjoyed the campus life and the culture. It’s similar to Gill [St. Bernard’s] in a lot of ways. He really liked that aspect of it. He spent some time with the kids on the team and got a feel for what kind of kids they were. He felt really comfortable with those guys. Tyus Jones, we saw his room and where he lived. He felt he fit right in.”
Battle also met with Coach K and talked basketball.
“Coach K said they like him a lot,” Gary said. “We saw the Blue and White game which was pretty cool. It was very competitive. They played basketball to try to win the game, 24 minutes of hard play, which was really great to see the style of play. It was a great visit.”
The 6-foot-6 Battle is being recruited by virtually every major program in the country, and plans to cut his list by December. Kentucky, Duke, Syracuse, Louisville, UConn, Michigan, Ohio State and Florida are among those in the mix.
