Bill Self, whose Kansas team meets Kentucky in the Champions Classic Tuesday in Indianapolis, offered up this summation of Kentucky’s loaded team.
“There’s not a talented team in the last several years like Kentucky is going to have on paper,” Self told USA Today. “You have nine McDonald’s All-Americans. They have more McDonald’s All-Americans than the Lakers.”
To be precise, Kentucky has nine McDonald’s All-Americans. (Kansas has four.)
I haven’t counted how many the Lakers have, but they don’t have nine.
They are also 1-6 and well on the way to the NBA Draft Lottery, where, ironically, they may end up landing a Kentucky star such as Karl-Anthony Towns or Willie Cauley-Stein.
Reggie Miller Tweeted that he thinks the Lakers could lose 60 games.
So as we say, “Lose Some More for Okafor” and “Play Like Clowns for Towns.”
The Tankathon has begun.
